Fitness equipment imported from China must meet the same safety standards as equipment manufactured in the European Union (EU). This includes compliance with the relevant EU directives and regulations, such as the Machinery Directive, the Low Voltage Directive, and the ElectroMagnetic Compatibility Directive.

Before importing fitness equipment from China, it is important to ensure that the equipment complies with all relevant EU requirements, including:

1. CE Marking: The equipment must be CE marked to indicate compliance with EU health, safety, and environmental protection regulations.
2. Testing: The equipment must be tested by a recognized testing laboratory to ensure that it meets the relevant safety standards.
3. Documentation: The manufacturer must provide a technical file that contains all relevant documentation, including test reports and a Declaration of Conformity.
4. Labeling: The equipment must be labeled with the CE mark, the manufacturer's name and address, and any other relevant information such as the type and batch number.

It is the responsibility of the importer to ensure that the equipment meets all EU requirements before importing it into the EU. If the equipment is found to be non-compliant, it can be subject to penalties, seizure, and even a ban from the EU market.
